FAQs
What can you help me with?
A few skills I can work with you on (in addition to the list on the home page):
Performance anxiety
Thought stoppage
Flow State
Overcoming Injury (return to play structuring)
Coaching personality types
Creating team culture
Leadership development
This is far from an exhaustive list and if you have specific concerns or desired trainings, please reach out and schedule a consultation so we can confirm if it falls within my scope of practice.
What sports do you work with?
All! And with all age groups, male and female. My personal background gives me the athletes perspective from within multiple sports and the mental training techniques I train can be applied to any sport, at any age, and any skill level.
I’m not in New Mexico, can I still work with you?
Yes! The majority of work I do is online these days over the phone or through zoom calls for better communication face to face (virtually). No matter where you live you can take advantage of the trainings I provide.
How is this different from therapy or counseling?
Mental performance coaching is not therapy. While therapy often focuses on diagnosis and healing past trauma, coaching is forward-focused and goal-oriented. It’s about developing mental skills to perform better in specific environments, like sports or high-stress jobs.
How often should I schedule sessions?
It depends on your goals and availability. Some clients benefit from weekly or biweekly sessions, while others prefer a more flexible, on-demand model. We’ll work together to create a schedule that supports your growth. Typically I do recommended a commitment to a session schedule. Think of mental performance training like you would going to the gym. You cannot show up 1 time and see/feel a difference, it takes time, hard work, and consistency to build up your physical muscles and it is the same case with building a stronger mental game.
Is everything we talk about confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of the coaching relationship. Everything we discuss in our sessions stays between us, unless you give permission to share information with someone else (such as a coach or parent). The only exceptions are situations where I am legally required to break confidentiality—such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. Otherwise, your privacy is fully respected and protected.
I am not yet sold on Mental Training…
Think of this as an extension to current trainings you have in your sport. If the mental side of your competition is being ignored you have not tapped into full potential. Mental skills you learn will last forever and many apply not only to your athletic career, but as life skills as well! The reality is this is an incredible value and an asset to add to your arsenal as a competitive athlete.
